Simply Good Companies

We love discovering and supporting small(er), consumer brands that make exceptional products, while recognizing their impact on people and our planet. Some exemplify this by making products that will last multiple generations. Others have created closed-loop systems whereby they have a thoughtful, sustainable end of life for their products to be re-used or recycled. However, in a world of fast media and even faster fashion, it takes significant effort to shop for products built with purpose. Simply Good Companies (SGC) is our attempt to shine a light on these innovative teams, helping consumers discover and support brands that share their values. We look for a few simple traits in these companies; transparency, impact and independence.

• Transparency These companies are willing to share data about their products, corporate ownership, supply chain and more. We're not looking to be intrusive or seeking fancy marketing collateral, we're looking for facts about how they run their business.
• Impact We want companies that are thoughtful about the positive and negative impact their products have on the world. These companies deliberately use sustainable materials and / or go through painstaking measures to build products that will last a lifetime. Above all these companies care about the people making their products and the people using their products.
• Independence These are not subsidiaries of large companies, but rather small(er), independently owned companies with annual sales under $75 Million. These companies may have a single brand or multiple brands, but they are not a part of a large organization.
